School-Age Child Care and Virtual Learning Center

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN! 

This small group school age child care program is operated by the Fairfax City Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with Fairfax City Schools & Superintendent to assist with child care needs for working families in Fairfax City while schools run under distance learning.

This program will offer small group care, assistance with distance learning, and organized physically-distant activities.

Program Dates and Times:

Tuesday - Friday 
•    7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.  (Optional add on of Mondays if needed)

Begins September 8, 2020 and will continue through the school year

Ages:
Kindergarten - 6th Grade
Limited Capacity.

ELIGIBILITY
  1. Child must be enrolled in Kindergarten - 6th Grade for the 2020-21 school year.
  2. CITY of Fairfax Residence (Address verification may be requested)
  3. All parents/guardians living in the child’s home must meet one or more of the criteria below or an equivalent combination. 
    • Work 30+ hours a week.*
    • Attend school full time (at least 12 semester hours).
    • Attend a job training program 30+ hours a week.
    • Be unable to work due to a disability.

    *Families with adult essential workers who are unable to work from home will be given priority.

  • Registration Now Open!
  • Registration will be done through and application process.
  • The program enrollment and selection will be based on those most in need and for those who meet the program eligibility.
  • Applications will be reviewed in the order in which they received.
  • Once your application is submitted, you will be notified within five business days regarding the status of your application.
  • If your application has been accepted, further information on the enrollment process will be provided at that time.
